BetweenUs is committed to the safety of children and has a zero-tolerance policy toward child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and any form of child sexual abuse or exploitation (CSAE). This page sets out our published standards as required by Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy.
1. Zero tolerance
- We prohibit any content, conduct, or contact that sexualizes, exploits, endangers, or abuses children.
- CSAM is strictly forbidden. Any such material is removed immediately on discovery and the account is permanently banned.
- Grooming, solicitation, sextortion, and trafficking of minors are prohibited and reported to authorities.
2. Age requirements
- BetweenUs is not directed to children under 13.
- The Connect (dating) feature is restricted to users 18 and older, gated behind an explicit 18+ confirmation.
- Accounts found to belong to underage users are removed.
3. In-app reporting
Every user can report content or another user in two taps. Tap the "…" menu on any vent, reply, or profile, or the menu inside a chat, and choose Report. Reports covering child safety are treated with the highest priority.
4. Our response
- Reported CSAE content is reviewed and removed without delay.
- Offending accounts are permanently banned.
- We preserve relevant data as required for investigations.
5. Reporting to authorities
We comply with all applicable child safety laws and report confirmed CSAM to the relevant regional and national authorities, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) where applicable, and equivalent bodies in the user's jurisdiction.
6. Designated point of contact
Our designated contact for child safety and CSAM-prevention matters:
shubhambatra1994@gmail.com
To report a child safety concern outside the app, email the address above with the details. You may also report CSAM directly to NCMEC at report.cybertip.org.
7. Ongoing commitment
We continually review and improve our safety practices. These standards may be updated; material changes are reflected by the date above.
